Jim Crow Laws
The South enacted Jim Crow Laws to segregate Black people and White people.
Jim Crow Laws were laws which segregated Black people and White people in the South.
For example, Black people were separated from White people in restrooms.
The South segregated schools.
Colored people and White people were segregated in buses and swimming pools.
Why did Southerners enact Jim Crow Laws?
White people in Southern states hated Black people because they considered Black people were inferior to them.
